THOUGHTS FROM THE FARM
Well hello everybody I thought I would put on a new post well everyone is still sleeping. Got my hubby off to work this morning and just having some quite time. Not much went on this weekend. We headed out to church yesterday. We have not been in sometime because we really don't have a home church. It is also hard because my husband works on Sundays. His aunt and uncle came to visit yesterday and we had a nice visit. Today on the agenda is finishing up canning my carrots and re-canning some mushrooms I bought in big cans. Also we need to get all our stuff cleaned up where we had calf hutches. We moved the calves around and just left the extras there. I know winter is coming and if I don't get in gear before you know it there will be snow everything will be covered. When I need it then I will not be able to find it. The kids are not real happy campers when we have to dig through the snow to find things we need. From the sound of things when winter comes my husband is going to load us up on baby calves to take care of so better get prepared. The baby pigs are getting big and cute. We have gate panels up for there pen so they go out the hole on one end and back in on the other end. It is to funny they are so cute to watch. We lost one an have only two now. The other mommy should farrow any time. We are patiently waiting but are ready. Well hope you all have a great day. I will leave you with a verse and God bless. Rebekah

Picture Of Mom And Kassandra Baking
Was going to add these pictures along with my post this morning but for some reason would not let me. So here they are pictures of me and Kassandra baking apple pear crisp. Oh I love the things that come with fall. Nothing like the smell of fruit and cinnamon baking in the house. As you can see she loves to wear her aprons.
Busy Days
Well things have been busy around here for sure. Lots of harvesting going on around the farm. I'm still trying to get garden stuff put up. I plan on digging my carrots today canning them tomorrow. Canned my white grape juice yesterday. Let a friend come pick the rest of my tomatoes. She had a 126 plants and they all died. Me and my daughter are headed off to a friends house today so she can play with their little girl for a while. It will be a nice time of sitting for mom. Matt and Avery are headed out to a farmer we know today to help him put up his silage. Oh happy days of fall. Have a great day and God bless you. Rebekah.

Canning Grape Juice
Here are the picture of canning grape juice. I forgot to take the camera so we could take picking pictures sorry. We have concords to go pick yet when we do I will post pictures. Here I have the grapes and sugar in jars just have to add boiling water and seal. Then in the hot water bath they go.
Here are the jars in the hot water bath where they will stay about 10 to 15 minutes after water boils.
Here is the finished product. I think we ended up with 36 jars of yummy grape juice.

My Thoughts
Thought I would write well everybody is gone. The guys and my daughter went to Ohio today for a field day. Which for those of you who do not know what that is you go and look at fields of crops from the seed dealer you bought seed from. Also the best part which my kids love you get free lunch.
I have been able to get alot accomplished today. Got a line full of laundry blowing in the wind. I love how it smells when it comes in so fresh beats the dryer anyday. I guess that is why I don't look foward to winter no line drying.
Canned some cheese sauce and green peppers today .
Made homemade oreos again today. They are wonderful you really should try them. I will give you the link for the recipe she did a much better job of posting it then I ever could. Anyways she has a really neat blog worth going to check out. http://www.frugalhomeliving.blogspot.com/
Was able to do some housework always nice to be able to do without everyone wanting you to do a hundred other things.
It is such a beautiful day here today lovely sun and wind blowing. God is so good. I don't think I could ever say that to much. Have a great day all and God bless you. Rebekah.

Encouragment For The Day.
Well I was going to originally post about how bad my day had went so far and not as I planned till I did my devotions. I will share a little bit of it and then you will see why I decided no reason to complain.
I Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
God is our faithful Father and loving Provider. We need not have any worries, for God takes care of us. God wants to bless us and fulfill all his promises for our lives. Let us choose joy.
Lord thank you for all the blessings that you have given me. I want to find my joy in you and give thanks in all circumstances. Amen.

New Babies On The Farm
Well lots of excitment on the farm today. We took the kids out for lunch, go karts rides, bumper boatrides, minature golf and dairy queen. When we arrived home we all came in the house and got ready to do our chores. I was on my way to the barn to milk and looked over there was a baby pig. I ran to the house and told everybody we have pigs. Needless to say we had not moved the boar or the other momma pig. Got them moved and gave her some medicine to help her have them better so far we have three. I will post home many when she is all done and pictures.

God's Word
When I was doing my devotions this morning I came across this verse and quote. Hope it encourages you as it did me. The quote and prayer comes from the daily bread.
Give me , O Lord, a strong desire
To look within Your Word each day;
Help me to hide it in my heart,
Lest from its truth my feet would stray.-Branon
To grow spiritually strong, read the Word.
Psalm 119:11
Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Day At The Doctor
I awoke at 4:00 a.m. this morning to do chores so I could get ready to take my sister to the doctor in Ann Arbor. Left around seven and are still here at 12:30. Hopefully I will be home by 4:00 to milk. Really my family is hoping I will be home to milk. My cows name is Tessa she likes nobody but me so it is no picnic when somebody else has to milk her. They just plain flat out don't like my goats that is all my venture. But if they have to they will milk.
My point of this post is as I sit here and watch the people come an go how thankful I'am for my familys good health. How God sustains us and takes care of us. We have nothing to worry about because our life is in His hands. God is so good to us. Have a great day all and god bless each and every one of you.

Verse For The Day
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is paitent, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Summer Work
Hello everybody thought I would update everyone on what is going on around the Hoover household. I have been busy at the canning.
My husband is trying to get hay put up. His corn silage is about 4 days from chopping and the
tractor is broke. The joys of farming it seems like when one thing goes wrong it all does. Cause
as you know most farmers are not rich and fixing farm equipment is not cheap.
My daughter has decided to show a couple of our dairy cows at fair next year. So we have already started working with one of them. Why not add a couple more cows when you have four going what is two more.
I canned 13 quarts of pickled beets today. My family likes them best that way. I can open a can and they will just eat them out of the can. Blanched some broccoli and cauliflower to freeze today. Time to pick tomatoes and green beans again. It is cold here at night so things are not ripening to fast.
Well I will leave you with a verse to think on till next time.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
