Stromboli Recipe (homemade hot pockets)

1 Tbsp. yeast
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. oil
3 c. flour
mustard and toppings of you choice
Dissolve yeast in water. Slowly add sugar, salt, oil and flour. Let rise 1/2 hour. Roll in long strip. Spread with a little mustard; add a layer of toppings. Fold and pinch dough together. Bake at 350% for 1/2 hour. Serve with favorite sauce. Alma Fern Bontrager

I will tell you what I do for my family when I make this. I double it three times and that makes 6 loaves. This is very good for leftovers. You can also make it into individual hot pockets bake them and freeze for later. Do use the mustard though because this makes the stromboli so good.
Do enjoy this is absolutely my family's favorite and it is nice cause you have to fix nothing else with it. Also do not try to use your own bread recipe it will not taste the same. I tried it with my recipe and the family did not like it. I finally got it on Brenda sorry so long. Let me know how you like it when you get around to fixing it. Have a good day and God bless. Great Nephew

This is my Great Nephew Rolland. He came to visit yesterday and I was able to snap this photo. He is such a sweetie just had to post this picture. He looks just like his mom. He is definitely his grandpas little buddy. On another note it is snowing again here in Michigan and I'm sick of it! They say it is going to snow until 9:00 a.m. and it is wet heavy snow so that makes it worse. Got my chores all done already mind you it is 6:16 a.m. as I'm writing this. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and could not go back to sleep so I just got up. I bet a nap is in the works for me today. Have a good day Rebekah

Weekly Update

Well thought I would post since it has been a while. Nothing to exciting to post last week was a busy week with my Husband and Son's birthdays. We went to old country buffet for lunch on Wednesday to celebrate their birthdays. Then on Thursday we went to our weekly Bible study at our friends house. There we had cake and ice cream to celebrate. Friday I came down with the flu and was in bed puking no fun. I felt better yesterday and today pretty good except for the stomach is kinda yucky. All I know is I can get outside to do my own chores which is a relief. If you live on a farm you know what I'm talking about. If you don't I will explain it in short nobody knows how to do you chores the way you do. My son has been working with the fair calves very diligently. Tying them morning and night. Walking them morning and night. I'm so glad he found something he really likes to be part of. But then it includes cows and farming so of course he likes it. My oldest son came and stayed Friday night. Then Saturday we had company for the day. Today we are just laying low doing school and resting. The son said his stomach was not feeling to well today. Don't want to spread anything around so staying home from church today. Well have a good Sunday and God bless you all. Rebekah

HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY AVERY

Here is a picture tribute to my wonderful son. Scroll on through the pictures to the bottom for mom's mushy writing about a great son.

Today is my third child's birthday. He is 14 today and growing up so fast seems like just yesterday when I had him. He is his Dads right hand man and such a big help to both of us each day. I think if we both got down and could not do anything he could run this farm all by himself. Some days I think he is 20 by the way he acts. He is kind, helpful, dependable, willing to help anybody, caring, good and I think the most handsome 14 year old there is. He will one day make a great husband and father who will take good care of his family just like his dad. How blessed I'm to have a son like him.

Farm Stuff

Had to put this picture on my daughter loves her dog and as you can see the dog lets her do whatever she wants. Here are our two newest babies both boys of course. Laying next to their mama in their nice warm hut.

Things have been busy around here what is new. Trying to get stuff ready so our taxes can be done that is always a joy. I'm trying this year to keep track of everything month by month so it is not so hard at the end of the year. Yesterday was more worming of cattle and goats here on the farm. We still have two more pens of cows to worm then we are done what a relief. It is always a big job especially for us because we don't have no fancy stuff to hold the cows with while we do it. Just some gates you hope they don't try to climb over or smash through. We got all our little steers dehorned and castrated which is another job that takes a day up but such a relief when it is done. Today is just a down day the kids have their cousin over for the weekend. So a vacation from school this weekend. The kids are busy playing monopoly while I veg on the computer. Tonight the guys are going to a hunting dinner our new church puts on every year. Us girls are meeting the lady's at our local cici's pizza for supper.
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS REBEKAH

Hello

Hello everyone, I'm writing to you from a very cold Michigan tonight. Well this week has been busy but what is new. We cut wood this week, fished, ran errands and the everyday daily chores on the farm. We have been waiting on a goat for about a week to have babies and no she still has not kidded. We are going to a customer appreciation dinner tonight for a place where my husband buys spray for our crops. No cooking supper for me tonight that is always a bonus. This time of year is always full of farm things like this. I guess they figure it is cold and the farmers can do nothing else so they can get them to come to their stuff. I don't always go but there is certain ones the hubby likes me to go with him to. Same thing always though a bunch of farmers talking about farming. Well hope everybody has a great night and keep warm.
GOD BLESS
REBEKAH

KIDDING SEASON HAS OFFICALLY BEGUN

Well our kidding season has begun. We had one last Friday, Sunday, yesterday and 1:00 this morning. I have a goat in the kidding pen now waiting to kid. Then we have one more to kid soon and one more around late may to early June. We have had 4 does and 1 buck so far. I'm very pleased with that. I have separated all the baby's from the moms so out in the pasture I told the family it sounds like a goat choir with their crying. Other than kidding we have not been up to much cold weather kinda puts a damper on that. Good thing there has not been much to do because I have been sick for about three days. Starting to feel better now.

Me and the kids went out computer shopping yesterday. I sold a few more goats and the hubby said I could get a laptop when I did. So off we went in search of one and found it. I love it! I can now be in the living room with the family and still use the computer. No more fighting with he kids over who gets the computer. They thought they were going to fight over mine I was like no way you got your own and this is mine.

I have my niece for a while today well mom and dad take the new sister to the doctor for her checkup. The new baby is so sweet and good. Her mom says she just eats and sleeps her sister was real fussy when she was a baby. I'm thinking this is going to be a
piece of cake watching her compared to her sister.

My daughter is going to start riding lessons hopefully that will help the whole horse situation. He knows she is scared and does not know what she is doing so he is really bad for her. So we are hoping once she gets a little more sure of her self she can handle him. Her brother rode him with no bridle or saddle. So he just knows she can't handle him. I will post pictures of the new goats soon and Brenda I did not forget about the homemade hot pocket recipe. I will post it soon I promise. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS REBEKAH.
